Pulney Estate: Pulney Hills

Up in the Pulney Hills of Tamil Nadu, in the quiet village of Pachalur, you’ll find The Laks Farm. It’s not just coffee they’re growing, it’s intention. No chemicals, no shortcuts. Just pure, organic practices rooted in care for the land and everything living on it.
This is one of the highest coffee-growing regions in the country, and it shows. The coffees? Incredibly layered. Bright, clean, and they linger—like a good conversation. The trees grow alongside oranges, bananas, cardamom, and pepper. It’s a farm that feels alive, with biodiversity that hums through the leaves and into the cup.
And Mr. Iyer? Honestly, one of the kindest people we’ve met in coffee. Humble, genuine, completely invested in doing right by his crop. You can feel that honesty in the way the coffee tastes, nothing forced, just deeply good.
We got here through our friend Viggnesh, who not only made the introduction but rolled up his sleeves and helped process some of the lots himself. His eyes, his energy made a real difference.
Being part of what’s happening at The Laks Farm isn’t just about great coffee. It’s about being close to people who care about taste, about land, about doing things the right way. And that, to us, means everything.
